West Gallery Music Workshop
St Michael's Parish Church, Winterbourne
10.30am – 4pm
This is the kind of light music that village bands and choirs played in churches in the 1700 and 1800s until Victorian churches decided that more serious music, choirs and organs were required!
Come and recreate this distinctive and lively music, which is also fun to perform.
The workshop is for singers of any age and any voice. No experience needed. Songs are in four part harmony so whatever your voice range, there is a part for you. You can learn by ear or read from music, as you prefer.
Instrumentalists are also very welcome on strings, woodwind or concertinas. Music will be supplied on the day but can be emailed if you would like to look at it beforehand. Please bring a music stand if you have one.
The day is organised by Winterbourne Medieval Barn Trust and will be led by members of Bristol Harmony West Gallery Quire. It will start at 10:30am prompt. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available (free) from 10am and at intervals throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch.
Cost: £16.50 (payable on booking), plus a small charge for the music, payable on the day.
Early booking required, if possible by 30 June so that we know we have enough participants to make the day viable and a reasonable balance of parts. Click below to book online.
