Winterbourne Medieval Barn
Wet-Felting, run by Fi Harris (FELTbyFi), 10.30am - 1.15pm
Turning wool or animal hair into felt has been the first step in creating a hat for hundreds of years, and the production of felt hoods was a major industry in the Winterbourne area (especially Watleys End and Frampton Cotterell) until the 1870s.
Fi Harris creates wonderful felt pictures and purses out of merino wool, decorated with embroidery and embellishments, inspired by local countryside walks.
Learn how to make felt, and then create your own a picture and 3D container in this workshop. The cost is £25 to include all materials and tuition, but please bring your own hand towel and tea towel. Contact Fi Harris via Facebook FELTbyFi or email below.
