We are a group of local residents concerned about litter spoiling our environment. Our aim is to keep Alveston looking clean, tidy and litter-free resulting in more pleasant surroundings for us all, including wildlife, to live in and enjoy. We achieve this through Litter Picks and contact with local schools and youth groups. For more information please contact Shirley Whyte.

The Avon Wildlife Trust is the largest membership-based wildlife organisation in the area, dedicated to promoting and protecting wildlife.
A Fairtrade directory has been produced to showcase the huge range of Fairtrade products now on offer and make it easier for consumers in South Gloucestershire to track down Fairtrade options. Click the link below to read more and download the directory.
We arrange walks each weekend as well as midweek evenings in the summer. The area and length of the walk varies greatly and members also arrange occasional weekends away.
We have regular social events such as skittles evenings, quiz nights, barbecues and the like, and there is always a Christmas dinner.
However, we are more than just a walking club. The Ramblers is a registered charity and one of its aims is to campaign to keep the footpath network open.
Local campaigns include transport, planning, recycling, wildlife and nuclear power.
