A Tudor House built for the pleasure of Henry VIII
Acton Court is believed to be the most original Tudor house in Britain. The East wing was built by Nicholas Poyntz in 1535 for a weekend visit by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
In 2019, the gardens at Acton Court will open for three Sundays (2 June, 9 June, 16 June) in support of the National Garden Scheme charities. Acton Court will be sponsoring some ticketed and free special events to accompany the openings.
Acton Court will be sponsoring Heritage Open Day tours of the house and grounds on 13, 14 & 15 September. Tickets will be available from June. Admission free. There will be a concert on Sunday 15 September.
Light refreshments will be available at all events.
