We're looking for a PA to work with our 10-year-old son who has severe learning difficulties and our 7-year-old daughter. You would only be working with one child at any one time (unless babysitting). Start date is 1st September 2018. The hours we are looking for are:
Monday: 4-10.30pm (7pm-10.30pm babysitting)
Thursday: 4-8pm (7pm-8pm babysitting)
Five days working eight hours each day Monday-Saturday. Rota to be agreed within 2 weeks of the start of each school holiday.
Additional hours may be available and you could accompany us on holiday subject to mutual agreement.
Work involves playing with either child at home, taking them to clubs or out to other places. Sometimes you would have sole-care of either child and other times you would accompany me (mum) out with both children. The Monday night would involve taking our son to Cubs/Scouts and supporting him there. We have a large labradoodle.
Our son is very active, loves marble runs, swimming, bubbles, going to the skate park, soft play, watching cars by the road and being outside. Our daughter loves swimming, gym, going to the park and messy/water play. Both children are developmentally and emotionally a lot younger than their age.
Experience working with children with additional needs is desirable but not essential. However, you will need to be confident in working with children and establishing boundaries. It is essential that you have a car with business insurance.
DBS and references will be sought. Hourly rate of pay is £9.50 weekdays and £10.50 weekends.
